On 20.12 the Faculty of Machine Technology at Technical University - Sofia who had a stand in the Traveling Exhibition Beyond the Lab – Do It Yourself organized a Reversed Science Café discussion Digital Dental Implant Construction. University experts who team up with medical teams presented their achievements in improving our healthcare. Innovative technological and methodological solutions that enable computer technology to become a direct participant in the whole dental implant-building process with personalized for each patient form and size were presented. Innovative are both the way of forming computer models that replace hand-tools and the possibility of building implants of hard-to-treat materials like titanium, chromocobalt and ceramics - not yet used in Bulgaria. Thus, collaboration between physicians and engineers shortens time, reduces cost and dramatically improves accuracy and compliance when creating and manufacturing personal dental implants.
